Cable Erection of Spatial Self-anchored Suspension Bridge

摘   要:

Yongjong Grand Bridge is a world first spatial self-anchored suspension bridge. The spatial suspension bridge has inclined cable planes in the transverse direction of the bridge so that hangers are inclined and the distance between main cables is varied along a bridge axis. The cable-supported bridges with inclined cable planes have good wind resistant characteristics but pose cable erection problems that have not been observed in the construction of typical suspension bridges. Because of spatial cable layout and main cable anchorage in the stiffening girder, lateral movements and uplifts of the wires at the strand channels of pylon saddles and splay bands were expected and occurred during the cable erection. Those phenomena interfered with cable erection. Mockup tests were performed at the site before actual construction of the Bridge and the results of the mockup tests were successfully implemented.
