CARS evaluation of manufacturing system under lethal and nonlethal failure (a case study of urea fertilizer plant)

摘   要:

This article discusses how to estimate the reliability of a manufacturing system (Urea Fertilizer Plant) under lethal and nonlethal failure. The units/components of the system could experience either a fatal (lethal) or a nonlethal failure. When a system fails fatally, it must undergo Copula repairs, but when a system fails non-lethally, it must undergo General repairs. This study employs a number of reliability physiognomies and validates them using numerical examples. The reliability sensitivity is also addressed in this work as compared to earlier investigations. Our objective is to advise system maintenance engineers on the optimum repair strategy that will maximize the functionality of the system under consideration. This work also aims to identify the most crucial system component(s) through sensitivity analysis carried out in this work. As a result, certain reliable facts are displayed in tables and graphs, allowing the conclusion to be drawn.
