The [alpha]4, [alpha]10 high-energy satellites in the K X-ray emission spectra of Mg are the single-, double- and triple-plasmon high-energy satellites, respectively. Other satellites may be due to a different combination of surface plasmons and volume plasmons . The relative intensity of the [alpha]6 satellite with respect to K[alpha]1,2 has been calculated as 0.42% using Langreth's formalism, which is in good agreement with the value observed by Krause and Ferreira.
