Core-substituted naphthalenediimides （NDIs） are not oftenused in functional materials despite excellent propertiesbecause the harsh conditions used for their synthesis areincompatible with structural diversity. Here, we report rapidaccess to blue, red, and yellow NDIs under mild conditionswith tolerance toward the additional presence of pertinentfunctional groups.
