Quantization of Horizon Area of Rotating Spacetimes via an Action Variable

摘   要:

With the help of Bohr-Sommerfield quantization rule, area spectrum of a rotating black hole is obtained by studying an adiabatic invariant action variable. We put the background spacetime into the Kruskal-like coordinate to find the period with respect to Elucidean time. Our result shows that area spectrum of the rotating black hole is evenly spaced and the spacing is the same as the one of Schwarzschild black hole, indicating that area spectrum of a black hole is independent of its parameters. Different from the quasinormal mode analysis, our study need not to impose the small angular momentum limit.
