摘   要:

The 7th International Conference of Students of Systematic Musicology (SysMus14) brought together 80 early career researchers working in the field of systematic musicology, representing 14 different nationalities. This report summarizes various examples of the 45 peer-reviewed papers and presentations that exemplify the broad range of topics that permeated the 3-day conference. Specifically, the report covers the research of the 2 keynote speakers, Barbara Tillmann and John Sloboda, who presented 2 very different psychological approaches in the study of music as well as a workshop given by Daniel Müllensiefen, introducing simple tools to control covariates in empirical music research. Further, the report highlights some of the student presentations held during the conference. SysMus14 successfully continued the high standards of the previous SysMus conferences, which was reflected in the high attendance figures in comparison with previous years. Beyond a doubt next years’ conference (SysMus15; to be held in Leipzig, Germany) will be just as inspiring for young musicologists as well as psychomusicologists.
